Do you have an eye for nature and a phone in your pocket? This September, The Dawes Arboretum invites you to showcase the beauty of our grounds through your lens in the Arboretum Photo Contest 2025!
Whether you're inspired by towering trees, intricate patterns in nature, or glimpses of the past, we want to see Dawes through your perspective. Snap photos during your visit and submit them for a chance to win a prize, and have your photo featured on our social media pages!
Contest Dates:
September 1–30, 2025
How to Enter:
- Visit Dawes anytime in September.
- Use your smartphone to take photos during your visit.
- Email your submissions with your name and contact information to learning@dawesarb.org with the subject line: Photo Contest 2025.
- Visit our website for full details and inspiration.
Contest Rules:
- All photos must be taken using a phone.
- Photos must be taken during a visit to The Arboretum in September 2025.
- Open to everyone—members, guests and volunteers.
- By submitting a photo, you grant The Dawes Arboretum permission to use it for promotional and marketing purposes.
- There is no limit to the number of photos you may submit.
- Judging will be based on theme relevance, composition and creativity.

Winners:
- Each category will have one adult and one youth (under 16) winner.
- Additionally, one photo will be awarded best overall.
- Winners will receive recognition and prizes, and select photos may be featured in Arboretum publications, on our website and across our social media platforms.
