Plant Search
This search feature retrieves individual listings of names from The Arboretum's living collection of plants, growing on grounds at the time of data upload. The search returns scientific and common names, family, whether the name has been reviewed taxonomically, number of plants with that name in collections and the number of those collected in the wild.

The plants listed are not for sale. We sell plants once a year at our annual Plant Sale and Auction held the third Saturday of May. We do have an active exchange program with other arboreta and botanical institutions worldwide, including publishing an Index Seminum, however, that is the extent of our distribution.

Plants returned from this search are woody plants planted on the grounds and do not include nursery or bonsai material.

This is an individual listing of names from our living collection of plants. We only sell plants once a year at our plant sale in May. We do have an active exchange program with other arboreta and botanical institutions worldwide, including publishing an Index Seminum ,but that is the extent of our distribution.

Type the name of the plant you are looking for to display a list of results containing just that name. If the results include more than 30 records, use the navigation buttons at the bottom to see more results.

Enter the scientific or common name to search for in the box below.

% can be used as a wildcard character. See examples below. Not case sensitive. Separate cultivar names from species names with the wildcard (i.e., pinus strobus%fastigiata). Do not enter single quotes or other characters.

Accession Search
This search feature provides individuals or institutions having received plants or propagation materials from The Dawes Arboretum with a Dawes accession number to reference source and other accession information.

The accessions returned are not necessarily living in our collections now, but maintained for reference purposes.

Enter an entire or partial Dawes Arboretum accession number or the scientific name of an accessioned plant. Dawes accessions use the format "D2001-0001" where "2001" is the year of the accession and "0001" is the number of accession in that year.  Be as complete as possible, the file is large and incomplete entries return large numbers of records.

Enter the accession number or scientific name in the box below.

% can be used as a wildcard character.
